Reach measurement

We measure the use of this website with a self-hosted, cookieless reach measurement. No cookies are set, no identifiers are stored in your browser and no data is shared with third parties.

Your IP address is never stored or logged. It is only used to derive a check value (SHA-256 of IP address, browser identification, hostname and a random value that changes daily and is held in memory only). Once that random value rotates, any link back to you is technically impossible; you are not recognised across days.

We store: the page visited, the referring domain (hostname only, no path), the campaign parameters utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, country code, device category, browser family, language setting, timestamp and the check value described above. The country code is resolved from a local database without querying any external service (IP Geolocation by DB-IP).

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in operating and statistically evaluating our website. Because no cookie is set and no identifier is stored on or read from your device, consent under § 25 TTDSG is not required.

Individual records are deleted after 90 days; only aggregated daily figures without any personal reference are retained beyond that.

We honour the “Do Not Track” and “Global Privacy Control” signals: if you send either, the visit is not counted. Independently of that, you can object to the measurement at any time using the switch at the end of this page.

Because we cannot identify you from this data and do not need to identify you for the evaluation, Art. 11 GDPR applies: we are not obliged to keep additional information in order to identify you. We can therefore only act on the rights under Art. 15 to 20 GDPR if you provide information enabling your identification.
